Tony Cocuzzo
Chair
Tony Cocuzzo is a senior partner with Deloitte LLP in Toronto and has been with the Firm almost 30 years. He serves some of the Firm’s largest clients and is currently the Investment Management and Real Estate sector leader for Deloitte Canada. Over his career, Tony has held several leadership positions including Managing Partner of the listed company audit practice and Real Estate Leader for the Americas region. Tony is also the President of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto Board and Chairs the Executive Committee
Susanne DesRochers
Vice Chair
Susanne DesRochers is a business executive with over 20 years of experience leading strategic marketing, crisis communications and change management teams for top tier multinational organizations in Commercial Real Estate and Financial Services. Susanne is currently the Head of Marketing and Communications at Morguard Investments. She holds an MBA from Kellogg-Schulich and a BA from Western University. She joined the Board in 2020, and currently sits on the Governance and Nominating Committees of both the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation and Catholic Children’s Society of Toronto.
Peter Brennan
Treasurer
Peter Brennan was recruited to join the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation Board of Directors in December 2021 with the plan to assume the Treasurer position and be the Lead Director for all financial and investment matters. Peter has over 30 years investment management experience. His education includes MBA, Ivey School of Business, BA Economics, Western University, Portfolio Management, Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, and Chartered Investment Manager. Currently, Peter is a Portfolio Manager with CIBC Wood Gundy, provides investment advice, financial and estate planning for individuals and families throughout Canada and the United States. Peter is also a very dedicated volunteer with his church and community.
Tara Tinmouth
Secretary
Tara Tinmouth is a CPA, CA and the Director Portfolio Management and Delivery In Risk Management at the Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, Tara brings her depth of knowledge in accounting and tax as well as a breadth of experience in project and change management and operational risk. She started her career at KPMG LLP and has since worked for several of Canada’s largest financial institutions as well as overseas. She has an MBA from the University of Toronto and is bilingual in English and French. Since 2020, Tara has been on the board of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation, and sits on the Society’s Finance and Administration Committee and chairs the CCAF Programs and Allocations Committee.
Kathleen O'Brien
Board Member
As Manager, Development Programs, Kathleen creates great career experiences for RBC’s Rotational Associates by supporting the planning and execution of projects and new initiatives within the Indigenous Peoples Development Program and the Leadership Development Program. Kathleen’s ability to develop strong partnerships, expertise in recruitment, and passion for advancing diversity and inclusion serve her well in this role.
Over her tenure at RBC, Kathleen has been responsible for the end-to-end recruitment of talent, partnering closely with business leaders to achieve strategic talent acquisition objectives. She has also been an advisor to support the re-deployment of employees by providing coaching and guidance to them. Kathleen founded and co-chaired RBC Working Moms for the HR Chapter hosting many successful events, including Parenting Through a Pandemic for employees across HR. Prior to joining RBC, Kathleen worked as a recruitment researcher and consultant at Bank of Montreal and Korn Ferry and held Marketing and Sales roles at IBM.
Kathleen has completed her Honors degree in Political Science from Western University and holds the Osgoode Certificate in Human Resources Law for HR Professionals from York University – Osgoode Hall Law School.
Phil Gillin
Board Member
Phil Gillin retired in November 2019 and at that time was Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager at BentallGreenOak, a member of the Sun Life group of companies. In that position he was responsible for the management $14 billion in real estate equity and commercial mortgage assets held by Sun Life. He was also the fund manager for 2 mortgage funds held by third party investors. Prior to joining Sun Life in 1998, Phil was an Executive Vice President at The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. Phil remains active on 2 investment committees at BentallGreenOak and is on the board of MCAN Mortgage Corporation where he is a member of the Audit Committee and the Chair of the Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance Committee. In the not-for-profit sector, Phil is on the board of Toronto Artscape Incorporated, a former member of the Executive and Real Estate Committees of the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and is the current chairman of the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation.
Geoffrey Grayhurst
Board Member
Geoff Grayhurst is CEO of Dorsay with over 25 years of real estate experience in the GTA. Dorsay is a GTA real estate development and investment company active in residential development and commercial acquisitions and acts as the global advisor for the real estate interests and investments of affiliates in Western Europe. He is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, the Urban Land Institute, the Urban Development Institute, Building Industry and Land Development, Lambda Alpha International, and is a Professional Land Economist. Geoff also sits on the board for R-labs and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and is a former board member for REALPAC. He sits on the Society’s Finance and Administration Committee and the Foundation’s lead director for Real Estate.
John Voutsinos
Board Member
John Voutsinos has 20 years of experience working with children professionally and through community involvement. Since 2006, he has worked at De La Salle College in various roles including as a teacher, a Guidance Counsellor, and the Director of Student Services. Currently, John is going into his 7th year as Vice Principal. John was recently invited to be a panelist at the 2019 College Board Education Summit to present his experiences on helping support the mental health of students. John is also a member of the Catholic Teachers Guild of Toronto and has completed Catholic Teacher formation sessions over the last 5 years. John joined the Catholic Children’s Aid Foundation Board in 2020 and is one of the lead directors of the Foundation’s Programs and Allocations. He is also a Director at the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and sits on the Society’s Service and Quality Committee.
Teresa Palandara
Board Member
Teresa Palandra is a Senior Partner and the leader of Mercer Canada’s Wealth Business. She’s responsible for Mercer’s delivery of investment consulting, open architecture manager-of managers investment management, private wealth management, and retirement actuarial consulting services and solutions in Canada. She has held various prior leadership positions in the 16+ years she’s been with Mercer Canada. Before joining Mercer, she held the Senior Retirement Consultant and Actuary position at Watson Wyatt for 8 years. She graduated with High Distinction (summa cum laude) from the University of Toronto where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Teresa is a strong advocate for gender equality and racial diversity in the workplace, she’s presently the Executive Sponsor of the Women@Mercer chapter in Toronto and the Executive Sponsor of the Canadian Racial and Ethnic Diversity Group. She’s also a member of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee to the Board of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
Cameron Murphy
Board Member
Cam Murphy is a Management Consultant with over 10 years of experience in strategy development and implementation. He is currently the Director, Private Capital Value Creation at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Cam’s projects have been focused on Energy & Natural Resources and Financial Services, and his skill set allows him to bring strategic thinking and planning to the CCAF team. Cam has an HBA from the Ivey Business School (Western) and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern). Cam is also a leader of Bain’s Social Impact initiatives in Toronto and lives in the city with his wife Alex and son Brooks.
